APEC Workshop on Using Market Research to Develop Effective IPR Campaigns
12-14 December 2007, Singapore
The IP Office of Singapore (IPOS), together with the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department (HKIPD) and IP Australia, hosted a workshop for PE&A practitioners of IP Offices in December 2007. A key focus of the workshop was to share information and practical experiences on combating online piracy as well as using market research to develop effective IPR campaigns. Over 75 representatives from 18 APEC member economies as well as local and regional IP related organisations attended this APEC-funded workshop, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Singapore.
This interactive workshop provided a valuable opportunity for IP offices to learn and share experiences on effectively using market research in both the planning and evaluation of IPR-focused public education and awareness campaigns. An outcome of this workshop was development of a Market Research Guide, which provides IP offices of APEC member economies with a simple and useful reference tool when conducting market research.
